Nicki Minaj Grabs Billboard's Top Spot

For the second time, Nicki Minaj ranks number one on the Billboard 200 charts - this time thanks to her new album “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded”, which sold 253,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan.

This follows her debut set, “Pink Friday," which rose to number one on last year’s chart in February. It ranked number two when it first hit the market in December 2011 with 375,000 copies sold.

The “Super Bass” singer’s new album is not a reissue of the original, despite the similarity in names - as it has a complete set of original titles, with its first single “Starships” rising to number five on the Billboard Hot 100.

Miss Minaj’s release replaced Madonna’s “MDNA” in the top spot - which fell to number eight with only 48,000 sales, making for the largest second-week fall in the charts history, dropping 87-percent, according to Neilsen SoundScan.

“Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded” also stole the top spot on the iTunes charts followed by Of Monsters and Men, Rascal Flatts, and One Direction.
